Preparing and caring for the altar, vestments, and sacred vessels used in worship services.

About this ministry

The Altar Guild is a behind-the-scenes ministry that ensures everything is in place for beautiful and reverent worship. Guild members prepare the altar for each service, care for the sacred vessels and linens, arrange flowers, and maintain the worship space.

This ministry is essential to the life of the church — though much of the work happens before and after services, it makes possible the sacred moments we share together each Sunday.

Altar Guild members serve on a rotating schedule and receive training from experienced members. No prior experience is needed — just a heart for service and attention to detail.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Altar preparation

Setting up the altar with linens, candles, and vessels before each service.

Flowers & décor

Arranging flowers and seasonal decorations for the worship space.

Sacred vessel care

Cleaning and maintaining chalices, patens, and other communion ware.

Rotating schedule

Members serve on a flexible, rotating basis throughout the year.
